Since 1905, we have been living and working with wood and boast a tradition of developing and designing energy-saving windows and front doors. Today, every window and door goes through a technologically advanced and carefully controlled production process, which ensures we meet the highest requirements for energy saving, durability and quality of living.

A century of experience, perseverance and a constant search for new solutions have transformed our company into the leading Slovenian manufacturer of energy-saving windows and front doors of the highest quality. The owners of houses and facilities in over 25 countries around the world enjoy the pride of products adorned the Jelovica seal.

A century-old tradition

Wood has been the centre of our story, and yours, for over a century. The tradition of the company dates back to the beginning of the twentieth century, when the carpentry industry began to develop in the area of Jelovica. The wealth of the region, with its natural resources and the endurance of artisans’ crafts of the past, provided the conditions for the flourishing of the production of doors, windows and houses. From those carpenters of the past, a company of innovative, driven and highly qualified professionals formed. Our foundations are based on a rich tradition, but at the same time we are respectful of the environment and are oriented towards the future. Wood is home. Wood is also Jelovica. Since 1905.

1905

The Company registers in the Commercial Register and Jelovica starts making history.

1920

Expansion of sawmilling at the Dolenc and Heinricher plants.

1946

The Heinricher and Dolenc plants are merged with the Gorenjska Forest Estate.

1955

With the merger of the timber industries operating in the area of the company today, the timber cooperative JELOVICA Škofja Loka is established.

1954-1976

Installation of prefabricated houses with Jelovica windows and front doors in larger settlements in Kamnik, Cerklje, Šenčur, Medvode and Kranj, for the earthquake reconstruction in Posočje, Goričko, Kozjansko and Friuli.

1960

The timber cooperative Jelovica Škofja Loka is renamed Jelovica, lesna industrija, Škofja Loka.

1963

Jelovica undertakes its first major project of erecting prefabricated houses with windows and front doors outside Slovenia - as part of the earthquake rebuild in Skopje.

1972

Wooden Jelovica windows are installed at the new Olympic village at the Olympic Games in Munich.

1982-1985

Establishment of housing settlements with Jelovica windows and front doors in Škofja Loka, in Hrušica, and the construction of 124 buildings in Iraq.

1989

Jelovica receives the first of a series of quality approvals for its wooden windows – gold medal for quality.

1991

The company carries out a strategic shift of development and sales from the former Yugoslavia countries market to European and global export markets.

1993

Jelovica establishes cooperation with the internationally recognised German institute for window technology, ift Rosenheim.

1996

Jelovica becomes a public limited company. In the same year, it receives the ISO 9001 quality system certificate.

1998

The company successfully completes a project with a Japanese partner – the European design of wooden houses in Japan – involving the development and construction of windows for 250 houses.

2000-2003

Construction of new settlements of 30 houses with Jelovica windows and front doors in Germany, as well as larger settlements in Slovenia: Log pri Brezovici, Črna vas, Rakek.

2007

The company has a change of ownership and strategic management. Two companies, Jelovica Houses and Jelovica Windows, are formed and continue their close cooperation in terms of development and sales. With its new vision, Jelovica is moving towards a modern living culture based on sustainability and environmentally friendly wood products.

2008

Renovation of windows just below the highest Slovenian peak. The mountain lodge, Dom na Kredarici, at an altitude of 2515 metres, is fitted with Jelovica wood-aluminium windows.

2010

The company concludes with the rationalisation and streamlining of the production process of exterior building installations at the location in Gorenja Vas. This has become a complete unit with material storage, the production process and storage of the finished product.

2011

Jelovica obtains the CE certificate for windows, shutters and front doors and the first in the set of 'Quality Labels in Construction' for the installation of doors and windows according to the RAL system.

2011

On the famous Austrian ski resort of Flachau, a holiday resort of 26 houses are adorned with Jelovica's wooden doors and windows.

2019

Jelovica upgrades its manufacturing process with technologically state-of-the-art equipment for the production of doors and windows, which represents a key step in the transition to system digitalisation of production processes.
